My first foray into the wild west
was with Blinker the Star.
An indie band from a Northern Ontario lumber town,
that signed with A&M Record (US)
barely out of our teens.
We were teenaged hockey drop-outs
reared in traditional, gospel, fiddle music
- but we played indie rock, loud and well.
There's a book to be written.
Thereafter, a few 'high and wides' with other music collectives under differing pseudonyms,
‘Hinterland 'band’ ironically enough,
became my first real 'solo' project.
Two full length albums and singles
were written, performed, and produced
entirely by myself
Compositions from this project have been placed in
Muchmusic (CAN), NBC (USA), CTV (CAN), MTV (US & UK), Fox (USA), CBC (CAN), The CW Network (USA) and PBS (USA).
Diversifying, I also release as 'Colin Wylie',
a self-titled full length album and singles
were released in partnership with
Ting Dun records (Montreal).
This music was awarded grant assistance
from FACTOR & SOCAN Foundation.

There is always new music cooking.
However, in these roaring 20s of the 21st Century,
forcing music projects, commerce, and time
to intersect at a commerical release point
is more difficult than ever.
I'll let you know when its ready,
and it will have been worth the wait.
